Hello.

There's a decision to be made related to hero upgrades.
Recently one of our beta testers (he doesnt want to be mentioned right now) discovered a very interesting sc2 glitch, giving a way to take hero upgrades without paying for full price.
Now before i say anything more about this, let me first say again that this is not related to Marine Arena.
This glitch can be re-created in many other maps (already tested that) as long as the unit holds the upgrades.
Now on the fix, we have 2 options:

Option 1: Remove hero upgrades from units (heroes) and place em either in the 2 middle Arena shops, or under a new tab within the Command Center.

Option 2: Seperate the upgrades within the hero tab, like be able to see all the upgrades, but the player will have to purchase em in the proper order, like fungal upgrade lvl1,lvl2 etc.

We have to decide about this in order to remove the glitch posibility being used, which I believe not many know (maybe none).

Again we thank our beta tester for finding out this interesting sc2 glitch and now we looking forward into removing it.

Well I also believe having upgrades in mid arena is better overall, but option 2 was more favoured and now this glitch is fixed and no longer possible for a player to use it.

after the fix once you buy an upgrade on a hero it brings you out of the upgrade screen. this part isnt necessary as upgrades now have numbers and cant be bought unless the previous is bought so could we make the upgrade screen like the upgrade screen in the command center where you stay in it after buying an upgrade

Yes that was intended because sometimes in battles you can easily do an upgrade and right away use an ability without having to press the back button/esc or select the hero again.
Its a unit not a structure and having always the main abilities page showing up its better instead of stucking into the upgrades submenu.
If you get used to this you will see is more effective during gameplay.

i see your point but in the middle of a fight if you want to get quick upgrades having to press the upgrade hotkey several times will take more time than having to either press ESC once or selecting your unit again with a ctrlgroup

Yes I understand that, having the hero tab going back after purchasing an upgrade, its more friendly for new/medium skilled players, but on the other hand it can be useful even for more skilled players due to acting fast in the middle of a fight.
There's not many hero upgrades (like CC which has a lot) but,
If this is something most players don't want to have and find annoying, I will revert it to how it was, just lets give it a few days first.

for new and medium players its better to not change how stuff works. not balance but positions of stuff shouldnt get changed. like swapping the merc and marine upgrades in the cc would be confusing for everyone just like this is

I prefere to have the upgrade menu sticky rather than automatic back. It depends the situation of course but this is my feeling :)
